NEW PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION

The following has been attributed to State Representative Mitchell Aye from GA. This guy should run for President one day...

"We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense
guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional, and other liberal bed-wetters. We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim they require a Bill of NON-Rights."

ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc.; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful, do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes. (This one is my pet peeve...get an education and go to work....don't expect everyone else to take care of you!)

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.

ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful. (AMEN!)

ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from!

ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution. The phrase 'IN GOD WE TRUST' is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!

That thing has been around so long, it has mold on it's mold.

FTR, I think the constitution is fine as written and am dismayed at the casual regard it is taken these days.

Whew, that is deep. No doubt the ability to disagree is fundamental in a free society, but your opinion (here) is not the kind of stuff that got this country (and undoubtedly you rolmops) where it is today.

So you actually believe that this would replace the Constitution? Somehow I can buy that. 8)
But it is just saying what some of people think. You get out of life what you put into it, it isn't free and it isn't always fair.
You are resonsible for your actions and there are consqunses for you actions. Seems like good and simple logic.

And as for mold, isn't that what penicillin is made from? Good stuff, but not on my bread!

That embarrasses a true conservative thinker.

It is not only very old and troll-worn, it is purely negative and hostile.

If the way for us all to "get along" is for everyone to agree with you all the time we will NEVER "all get along".

Re: NEW PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION

Pretty funny, but I have a couple of additions to make:

ARTICLE XII: There is no guarantee that your investments will make you money. If you buy a piece of property, and twenty years later are prohibited by law from doing something particular with that property, you do not have a right to sue the state to recover the money you might have been able to make, were there no such thing as zoning laws. Life is inherently full of risk, and real estate speculation especially so. When the risks that you take don't pan out the way you wished, take your lumps with the rest of us and stop whining about what might have been. The state is under no obligation to make sure that your speculative investments are always profitable.

ARTICLE XIII: Just because you might happen to be a Christian, no one -person or institution- is under any obligation to honor or make any special note of your beliefs or religious holidays. You are free to worship as you please, but you are not free to demand that any other entity respect or take note of your religious beliefs. Your particular religion is not synonymous with this country or its government.

Well said Erick, lately it seems many have lost their sence of humor in DC. Sorry guys, this wasn't a troll. I hate some of you jumped on it as if it were.

That may be so,but your conservative attitude taken to the extremes that you promote, makes me imagine the boomyals in bear skins chasing each other with wooden cudgels, eating raw meat and demonstrating against new things like fire and metal.

Re: NEW PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION

Gee, RP, why did you leave this one out? It seems to be in the original...

"ARTICLE VIII:
You don't have the right to demand that our children risk their lives in foreign wars to soothe your aching conscience. We hate oppressive governments and won't lift a finger to stop you from going to fight if you'd like. However, we do not enjoy parenting the entire world and do not want to spend so much of our time battling each and every little tyrant with a military uniform and a funny hat."

And that thing about our heritage being chirstian is NOT in the orignal..

Re: NEW PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION

"Illegal Immigration (Mexican Invasion of sovereign US territory)"

I'm afraid illegal immigration doesn't really count as an "invasion" in the traditional sense. It makes good rhetoric I guess, but that's about it. When the Mexican army starts massing on the Texas border, then you're looking at something that would qualify as an invasion.

Income tax, as much as we hate it, is clearly constitutional, as laid down in article XVI : "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration." I has been noted, though, that the ratification process was questionable.

I'm not sure how abortion fits in as a constitutional issue.

Other things that are not provided for in the constitution are the drug wars, warrantless searches and wiretapping, holding prisoners without showing cause, cruel and unusual punishment, and claiming new powers for the federal government that are not clearly laid out in the constitution.

Another thing not provided for in the constitution is for the president to declare war. That is plainly not listed amongst the president's powers, and is listed as a congresional authority under article I, section 8. For the iraq war, congress, with few notable exceptions, totally copped out on that, and abdicated their responsibilities by ceding their authority to the president.

Interestingly, I also find no mention of God, or of Christianity being the founding religion anywhere in the constitution or its amnedments...

I would love to see the above "amendments" passed. And i am a devout Christian, BTW.
