Hey guys I've got a Seapro that has found its way into quite a few oyster bars in its day.... I've fixed the deep gouges with evercoat gelpaste but like everyone says color match isn't great.. In doing a lot of the repairs I've got a few points of exposed fiberglass. I had so many scratches that in sanding them down and gelcoat pasting I went a bit overboard by accident trying to go back to a smooth hull..
I know that if you just spray gel over existing gel it is likely to be a pain with the problems it will cause...
In talking with folks and searching lots of people reccomend awl grip.... I would love to just do the whole hull in awl grip to minimize future maintenance and make my whole repair project look better....
I need a link to a full writeup on how to use awl grip, exactly what I need for below surface areas, etc....
I can't put the boat in the water until I get my exposed fiberglass covered and I hate doing a half assed job, might as well Awlgrip it now, I deploy again in 3 months and don't have the cash to pay a pro and need to get back on the water...
I did search but couldn't find a full write up and I want to do this now in the next two weeks I have off work and my brothers to help....
Currently my hull is scratch free, with gouges filled, and ready for the Awlgrip, just need to know what to buy and where.... I'd feel more comfortable to roll/tip but have a 60 gal compressor and a cheap harbor freight paint gun if I have to spray
Please help ASAP
