Need help about 3.7 mercruisers

So i just wanna know whats the difference beetween the mercruiser 3.7,3.7l,3.7lx,180,470,488,190,160,170and the other 3.7 s that i forgot?? Thanks

a sticker, the year it was made, the carburetor.

same platypus motor (ford FE iron head, pistons, connnecting rods, custom aluminum block with open deck, custom crank, custom cam, GM bearings, GM flywheel and custom outboard flywheel as front damper)

if you are considering a boat with one, highly recommend you pass and get a boat with parts support.

The later ones had a different exhaust riser IIRC. But otherwise just 2bbl vs 4bbl and the naming differences made it sound like they were changing things when they were not really changing anything
