Little Gamefisher boat and Merc 7.5 ran great for 40 year olds. First time in the lake for them for me anyway. No leaks and the motor ran like a Swiss watch.
But carrying it like that has something to be desired. By the time you hit 30 MPH the downdraft into the cab is so much that you can't hear anymore!! It did clean out the interior of the Jeep pretty good though. I am building a Jeep trailer that can accommodate the boat, but it's a work in progress.
That is sort of the idea. I hope to get my Jeep trailer done by next fishing season. The traile box is 5 foot long by about 5.5 wide and the tougue hitch able to extend out. The trailer box will have a lid and I can stick the boat on top. The boat and motor combined don't weigh much more than 200 lbs or so. I also need to build some launch wheels for the boat. Just one launch yesterday and she's all scuffed up.
