The pace car set on fire just running down the track. It filled with smoke and the driver pulled off to get out.

I think the driver and passenger would have jumped out the window if they had been a bit younger, as it was the passenger nearly hung himself with the headsets.

Needless to say it was a hasty exit..

Oh and shrubby spun!!!

More like a Tesla. It caught fire during normal use, unlike Volts which burned in storage after crash testing. :joyous:

Wow! A lot of stuff happening in that race.

What's up with Fox Sports 1. That new ticker on the side is soooooo dumb. Took them forever to figure out there were only 9 cars in the race (after first big wreck) and that "field" BS is just that. Dumb!!!

With the crashes in this race I wonder how many cars will be able to finish the 500...? The cars looked like they have plenty of closing speed however the 48 car just simply lost it...bummers :lol: Matt caused the big one. Looks like the sheet metal shops will have alot of work to do after the 500 based on the damage done with less than half a field on the track. :facepalm:

From what QC said about FS1, maybe I didn't miss much since I don't get the channel. It seemed like Hamlin was able to drift way back and pull back to the front. Of course he didn't have many cars in front of him cuz they were all in the garage.

Couple things I noticed tonight..

The front bumper is very strong in this car, even the corners, pretty amazing.

They increased the size of the rear spoiler, and yet the defending champion lost the rear, completely, maybe you can still take the air off the back of the guy in front of you.

Much more passing, closing speed is great, driver field of view is obviously less, things happen so fast the spotter sometimes doesn't have a chance to warn a driver, tonight we started 18 finished with 8 or 9, next Sunday we start with 43, yeah could be interesting..

Should be an interesting Daytona 500, hopefully we have more finishers then we did tonight...

Hopefully they will race in the 500 instead of run around the track like a freight train for the first 450 miles. We have the Twins coming up on Thursday...maybe they will mix it up some to see what the cars will do

I am in for more than an 8 second ride... or in this case...a 500 mile Sunday Drive called follow the leader.
Just because a driver rides around in back of the field does not always keep him/her out of the big one. I would prefer to be up front.
