Re: Nascar

Interesting, after all of these years, the #3 is on the pole for the "Great American Race" Feels a bit odd, but I hope Dillon does great in the show.

Re: Nascar

Glad to see you on the team, QC! I agree with the website changes, some things are better left functional.

We could use some more (20) people on the team.

iboats racing? Fantasy Racing for those interested in an iboats team.

NASCAR Fantasy Games

I partcipated last year and it is actually pretty fun...scoring is live for the picks that you make.

I'm in but it will be true rookie action. If it's like my horse picks it could be a good thing, shear luck.

Welcome aboard 64osby & BluesCrew. Just do a quick read on how the races are scored and you will do as good as anyone...and yes luck helps alot. :)

Last year was my 1st and I was 5th of 9.

Re: Nascar

This is my first experience with Nascar Fantasy. I follow pretty closely, but the scoring is definitely not all about winning.

To QC's point, here is a quick summary:

Scoring Categories:

Drivers are scored across four (4) statistical categories, originating from NASCAR’s official Race scoring. If a Driver on a participant’s Team Roster does not compete in a Race, that Driver will be awarded zero (0) points for that Race.

Laps Led:
Total number of laps led divided by 2. Example: If Carl Edwards lead 70 laps, he would earn 35 points. NASCAR Timing & Scoring will be the official source of this statistical category.

Fastest Laps:
Total number of fastest laps divided by 2. Example: If Denny Hamlin recorded 50 fastest laps, he would earn 25 points. NASCAR Timing & Scoring will be the official source of this statistical category.

Place Differential:
Starting position (based on official qualifying order) minus finish position, +/- 1 point for each driver’s place differential. Example: If Jimmie Johnson started 7th but finished 1st, his place differential would be +6, and he would earn 6 points. If Jeff Gordon started 6th and finished 10th, his place differential would be -4, earning him -4 points.

Finishing Position:
1st place gets 46 points, 2nd place gets 42, 3rd place gets 41, 4th place gets 40 points and so on in decrements of one point per position, with 43rd place earning 1 point. The Game will be scored based on the final Race results tabulated by NASCAR Timing and Scoring

Bonus Points - Car Manufacturer:
10-point bonus for picking the winning car manufacturer for that week. Selection DOES NOT carry over from week to week; a new pick must be made each Race.

Bonus Points - Pit Crew:
10-point bonus for picking a Top-5 pit crew (based on positions gained/lost on pit road) for that week. Pit road positions are gained/lost by drivers on a lead lap who pit under caution during the Race. Pit road points accumulate based on how many positions the lead-lap drivers gain or lose during a yellow flag pit stop. Pit road points are calculated by adding up all positions gained or lost during pit stops under yellow for lead-lap drivers during the Race. Points are earned or lost at a 1:1 ratio. For example, Driver A gained 5 positions on pit stop 1 but lost 2 positions on pit stop 2, his pit road +/- score would be +3 points. Example B: Driver B gained 5 positions on pit stop 1 but lost 6 positions on pit stop 2, his pit road +/- would be -1 points. Selection DOES NOT carry over from week to week; a new pick must be made each Race.

Welcome aboard 64osby & BluesCrew.

Re: Nascar

I had tried to watch the Duels. The 1st race was interrupted by dinner, but was able to watch the recording Caught up to start of the second race only to have the weather turn really bad. The signal for the dish went out. The the only frame I ended up seeing was from the last lap crash. Couldn't tell what was what due to the pixilation.

Sure hoping race day allows for a good race, broadcast and reception.:)
