I picked up this former fishing camp rental boat late last summer and intended to dig into it right away but a warm fall had me fishing out of it. I really like this old boat and think it deserves to be prettied up. I was inspired by pckeen's restoration on here although as a fishing boat, I don't intend to pay quite as much attention to detail.

Welcome back

Wow, I think I'd be temped to leave well enough alone on that Naden. Compared to most project boats, that one looks pre-rehab'd already.

Nice looking boat.

EDIT: Oops, spoke too soon. The keel strip damage from beaching repair and the hole you patched look good. Guessing you know the risks of welding aluminum, esp welding in aluminum on a rivet built boat.

Progress. Takes multiple applications of the stripper along with wire wheeling and palm sander.

Tried the cling wrap trick and it helps.

Tried the stripper mixed into a paste with flour trick. Worked better than plain stripper.
That's where I'm at right now.

Think I could just clear coat this? Rat boat? Sigh, back to smearing, waiting and scraping.
