My oil looks like mud!!

Just bought this boat its an 1989 5.7 galaxy starion 21 ft. Changed the oil and it came out looking like this, what does that mean?

Drive oil or motor oil? Model/serial numbers help,looks like drive oil to me.,you need to pressure/vacume test the drive. It's got water in it.

Not good either way. I am guessing that engine oil

Look through the stickys at the top for info and ways to proceed.

Looks like a typical head gasket or intake gasket leaking water into the oil. or if it wasnt winterized correctly the block could be cracked. I see a lot of boats being posted for sale that werent winterized and have cracked blocks from the water inside the engine freezing and expanding

Could be anything from a cracked block to a bad riser.
Pull the plugs,any rust?

It's engine oil. It's model number # 983900
It's still starts up and sounds fine
