Have a 86 70hp yami outboard which was completely rebuilt last winter have ran about 30 gals of gas thru at this point with a premix of 50 to one in addition to the factory oil injection for the first 20 gallons, the motor runs very well except prolonged idling or trolling carbs were cleaned with a sonic cleaner, floats have been set and rechecked. I can get it to idle down to 750 rpm but at that engine speed it idles rough an stalls after a few minutes, have had low speed screws from less than one turn out all the way two a couple turns out, manual says 1 1/8 to 1 5/8, have also tryed moving mechanical advance back an forth couple degrees with no luck, compression is 118 bottom 120 middle 120 top, also running amsoil marine 2 cycle oil in premix tank.. Are these engines able two idle that low or what, manual says idle speed is 650-750 rpm. Was told by local marina that I might have to go up on the low speed jet due to the ethanol in todays gas. Also running a 13 pitch prop which is a little under propped , 5750 rpm at top speed so dont think theres too much drag on engine at idle.. Anyone have a idea as to were to go next.. thanks..
