Has anyone ever used metal rather than wood to replace the floors?
In your Aluminum Lund?Has anyone ever used metal rather than wood to replace the floors?
CorrectIn your Aluminum Lund?
Usually helps to include what your working on.....
There transom concerns, looks like potentially replaces at one time with CCA plywood that is no coroading the aluminum.... getting it checked this week. Carpets need replacedI'd be curious what "problem" we're attempting to solve using metal floors? Increased cost and weight alone should be enough of a deterrent over tried & true plywood.
Besides...if we're going in for the floor, what does the rest of the boat look like? Stringers? Transom??
The aluminum will be covered with a vinyl boat floor coveringAlso noise made as you move around. Doesn't take much to support a person on a boat floor. I have used 1/2" plywood for most of my floors and never found it to be to flimsy with just a little extra support. I also make my floors removable !!
