Thanks guys!! Feels good to be at this stage now, and have the hull for the most part behind me.
FYI - I found out the trick to getting the smoothest results with rolling on the gelcoat, is to work in fairly small batches and get it on as fast as possible. I mixed up 500ml batches at a time, and aimed to get it all on within 15mins. As it starts to kick, it thickens of course, so the sooner you get it on the better it will self level out nice and smooth! (Pretty much common sense, I know) Another thing is I ran out of my smaller 1/4" nap rollers I typically use, so for the final coat I instead used some foam rollers I had laying around. I think the foam rollers work really well too in obtaining a smooth finish, might even be better than the nap rollers. Only thing is the poly resin sort of makes them balloon up a bit and expand some during use which is a bit strange, but it worked.
