We bought a Suzuki 20hp kicker motor for the boat. The boat has a Mercruiser 3,0, I'm wondering how do we tie the fuel line from the kicker motor to the main tank. I have heard that when one engine is running it could suck the fuel out of the other one.
There is one line coming from the tanks so we would have to tee into the line to get fuel to the kicker motor. I could see that being a problem.

You don’t, essentially. If you do, you tee it into the line. You need to keep the primer bulb.

But in general, run a portable can. If you run into main tank contamination issues you will make it home

Couple options depending on the fuel tank.

If there is another fitting in the tank for a pickup you could go that route.

Otherwise install a shut off/directional valve in line between the tank and main engine fuel inlet

Ayuh,..... That can happen,......

Instead of Teein' the line, install a Merc pattern canister fuel filter, 'n use it's second "out" port,.....
That way, both motors are fed cleaner fuel,....

Would you happen to have a part number for the canister fuel filter.

Mercruiser, 'n Volvo,......
The one you posted doesn't say,....

The Merc housing uses a Napa 3225, or 3226 filter,.....
