MC-1 interchange with Alpha 1

My gimbal ring has developed alot of slop, so it or the steering shaft needs replaced.

Question:

Can I use an Alpha 1 Bellhousing/Gimbal Ring assembly with the MC-1 transom plate and MC-1 outdrive?

Ayuh,... Probably, but the inner plate, may or may not work...

Ayuh,... Motor mount differences,+ stud spacing,+ count come to mind....

so if keep the same engine that fits the MC1 inner plate, the MC1 inner plate 'should fit the alpha1 gimbal housing?

im not positive but i believe the mc1 gimble housing and the alpha gimble have some differences i can check in my mercruiser book tommorrow but not sure that will work i believe the bellhousing would bolt up to the alpha gimble but i am not sure the mc1 drive would bolt to the gimble and work
