The Cobalt dealer sent me the cost sheet, and I'm going to work thru it on the R8. Not sure with everything pump up so much anything will happen this year, but there is a slight chance, very slight.

Prices to high and to top it off, won't get the boat until maybe this time next year

I think that is why the used market is so strong, particularly in slightly used boats (under 5 years). It is the 'bird in the hand' situation. I have seen folks trying to buy new, only to get pushed out in the lead time once they place an order.

The boat market has been so crazy the past couple of years. I think if you wanted to get a boat for this season, you'd have to buy slightly used. Otherwise, you'd be waiting for the market to cool down. (2024 ??? :unsure: )

Were many of the boat companies quoting 2023 delivery . . . or later?

Looked at a few 310BR w/OB
Looks like the 310 OB started in 2019, good part is there are a few out there, the bad is they are 34FT long. Looking real close at one in Marco Island, but hen figured its 34FT so don't really want to go that long

Looking at 310 with I/O and a few with 6.2 and one with 8.1 (Texas). More VP then Merc but Boat test show the 6.2 has a longer range at cruise then the 8.1

Closed cool will help with winterization but still its winter stuff. Would really like to find a 29 but they are all new this year.

Yes, the outboard versions are going to be a bit longer than the I/O versions, as the outboards are essentially 'added on' to the existing design in most cases.

That may only matter as far as slip space, since you'd have to consider LOA. I do see more inventory on the market in general, so perhaps the buying frenzy of the past 2 years has subsided a bit. . . and I see more price reductions than in the recent past.

Have looked in Chaparral 280 OSX in 4 locations. I like the one in Canada do to 250hp and Merc, the rest all have 200 Yam's but less hours. Maybe come spring I may have a Chap

Merc for the win AD. Yam have a way to go in order to catch up to mercs these days.

I've seen a few of the Chappy OSX at dealers/shows, etc. . . . very nice. 400 HP (total) does seem a bit on the light side for power. Those boats have been out for only a few years (right?)

I wish there was a 33-35 foot model :D

Don't like the looks of the side dive door but it will be useful getting on/off at our slip

The new Yam 200XCA is a 4 cyl and bit over 100LB lighter then the Merc Verado XL, both use DTS controls and helm

Go figure none of them have a VHF installed

The MSRP came in at 295K (Merc 250 varado) and initial estimate was 243k for new but has not been able to talk to Chap distributor yet. All the boats went up in 22 because of low rates and such. With rates going up the and inflation folks are wanting out more. In 21 with covid going on could be most bought it real cheap and may be selling them for what they paid.

Can come down and go for a ride anytime, being OB's and all :cool: no winterizing. Best during summer
