OP wants to know if they can operate their engine/ boat. I'm not in charge of their life. If they want to run the engine they can. My best advice based on info provided is to not operate their engine, this will ensure it remains sound. Is that okay?I would not be impressed with your responses...

consensus here is no real issue use it. Yiu may ned up with plug fouling , but that is if you only idleYa I don't know the guy...anyways I run Lucas hot rod oil high zinc...will it hurt my engine if I use it to troll...rpm is about 1000 or slightly higher if I do..will prolonged usage like that hurt it..
exactly i suspect his builder was speaking of break in vs long term useI just had my 3.7 rebuilt.
The builder also told me not to run at idle speed for very long (during break in period). Use high zink oil and keep above 1800 rpms when running at lower speeds. Also keep alternating speeds, so don't run at same rpm for long periods at a time. (Again, during break in period).
But after breaking period you should be able to run as you please with appropriate maintenance.
Hope this helps
So he confirmed just for break in then? Now run it like you stole it…I have talked to engine builder and he says I'm good to troll..thanks fellas
