Combine the rigid and pourable! you get the best of both worlds.

You can use the pourable to secure the rigid to the deck like glue and then pour more on top to protect it from fuel and oils while filling smaller voids too (foam sandwich).

The use of both foams will reduce the cost of the pourable.

Excellent. Now the fun begins. Tear down is a pain but the build up is where the fun is at.

You sure got lucky on that foam as it wasn't pour in. You'd still be digging it out of there :)

Well went crazy and pulled the cap and bow structure to clean and prep for paint

100_0595.jpg

Lot of work pressure washing and cleaning out the limber holes, used a acid wash to clean below the water line to prep for Gluvit, The product I used is called Maximizer, we use it at work to clean equipment and aluminum up, It will remove most coatings and oxidation off of aluminum, the spray bottle we dispense it it with is affectionately marked "Aluminum Eater":rolleyes:

If you have a farm supply store in your neck of the woods look for "milk pipeline cleaner",.............Same kind of acid.
If anyone dose use it please use the proper safety precautions,...

Now I am going to give a preview to some issues I have that will make the work I have done so far a moot point and send this old girl to the scrap heap:( I knew when I bought it thee were issues, as I clean I am finding they are a lot worse than originally thought!!!! Of course.

Ya these pictures suck, there will be more pics to come once i flip it that will show the story. Basically at the fore end of where the bunks sit the outer edge of the hull collapsed creating a hook in the hull and cracking the outer "chine?" for two feet or so, PO had it welded up and then caulked underneath where the topmost part of the ribs are riveted, now that i did some exploratory wire wheeling on the caulk it looks like some welding was done there also. While scrubbing inside I found cracked ribs at the top rivet line and cracks in the hull, also the weld on the chines either was not done all the way to the end of the cracks or it has gotten worse. I am capable of welding and patching but I am worried that this area is subject to stresses that will make it impossible to stop the cracking. Moral of the story is I will have to make a decision whether to proceed or scrap it out and look for another hull. Whew that was long winded!!!! More info and pics Tuesday Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jas, I get Maximizer from my paint store, it is used to get Semi wheels and tanks back to raw aluminum to prep for polish, stinky but effective!!! Prolly wont make your foam dissolve though!

Wow ! with all that work so far I would refuse to give in. Yea that maximizer does work very well I used to machine class D aluminum truck wheels for living (17 yrs,) and our polishing department used it in heat tanks until it became very costly in the volume we needed. But anyho with your facility and skill set I'm sure with some time and patience you can make it right and even be in the water before Jason.

I used the "milk pipeline cleaner" for the same thing,......It cost about 5 bucks a gallon and I mixed it 50/50 with water before using it,.....
