Re: Lost my best 4 legged friend ever.
I used to laugh at people when they would cry about losing a dog. I'd say, "It's just a dog, it's an animal, get over it." Until a little black dog showed up out of no where at my parents camp when my dad was beaver hunting. He stuck around all weekend, and then dad brought him home that trip. It's going to be a sad day when he passes, my dad won't be able to take it for sure. He's the hit of our family now. He's not a guard dog, he barks at other dogs and frogs and lizards, but any human, he whines and wags his tail so hard we think its going to break off at the base.
Its amazing what you can feel for a 4 legged friend who never spoke a word in his life to you. You'll be fine. Just remember, if you get another dog, don't try to replace that one, it will never happen. Just.....get another dog. Let it be totally different than the last one, not carrying on anything the last one did, just starting something new. There are so many dogs out there waiting for your love and affection, go by the pound, I promise one will take your heart.
