And I defended Canadian hockey with you and this is the return treatment.

I thought this was a hockey thread, not a nationalistic one. :)
Canadian hockey doesn't need any defending, but thanks anyway. :)

My team is the Senators. We gave the Pens all they could handle. Mike Fisher was one of the most popular Sens ever. That is enough for me to pull for them, a bit.

I have never identified NHL teams by country of origin, don't know why you would, and I've never understood the "they are the last Canadian team in the hunt, as a Canadian you have to cheer for them." sentiment. We got that this year. I don't want Habs or Leafs fans jumping on our bandwagon....I sure as he** wouldn't be on theirs.
If the Red Sox were playing the Blue Jays in the ALCS, you think the Yankees fans would be cheering for the Red Sox because they were the US team?

Yeah, right. :)

All that said....absolutely great series....hope it goes to game 7 and ends on a great goal.

Fair point ... that one we earned ...

I learned that from my trucker cousin...... Yep, been thru Nash. They don't like to let guys with 30' trailers move over either. Until you just start changing lanes anyway, then they scatter....:) My cousin said, count to 5 and start moving, or was it 3?

Well ... coming from a truck driver, I would dump a little bit of salt on that ... a lot of the pro drivers out there are just that, "pros." But there's a new generation of drivers who I don't think have the training or skill they should. We get a LOT of big rigs in this area, and logistics in Middle Tennessee is a booming business. The trucks are causing easily as many problems as they're griping about.

That said - we "four wheelers" make our fair share of pandemonium on the roads here in Nashville. Not the worst place I've driven, but certainly not the best.

Atlanta is a piece of cake. I-75, I-85 and I-20 are bumper to bumper early to late from outside of the Perimeter, I-285, to the other side. No through trucks are allowed inside the Perimeter and have to use I-285. Cars still clog the inner freeways and Rush Hour is almost Rush Day.

I-75 looks like a semi parking lot for hours.

^^^ ATL is pretty busy. BUT - for the amount of cars they move through that city, especially on the I75 corridor, I would say they ultimately do a good job.

I actually don't like the run from Chattanooga to Atlanta worse than I don't like driving through Atlanta. 75 is a zoo coming South outta' 'Nooga.

Behind only politics and religion, truckers versus four wheeler discussions usually go south and i'm a 50k+ per year road warrior so I could go on about both.

Lets just say there is a lot of improvement needed on both side of the highway and get back to hockey,
:)

I did see that one.

Finally got to see some images from downtown on Monday night. For those not familiar with Nashville, CMA fest started this week - basically it's a fan oriented concert festival right downtown with live music. People come from all over to visit, listen to music and see the stars.

That kinda' created the perfect situation for supporting the Predators. From the riverfront in Nashville - up Broadway to 5th avenue - is what's known as the honkey tonk highway: all the bars and music venues. That has all been shut down from auto traffic, and stages were put up to support CMA fest. On Saturday night and then again on Monday night (and expected for next Sunday), all three of those stages were broadcasting the game which was being played right at the corner of Broadway and 5th. Projection mapping on the buildings along broadway, live broadcast of the game and live music.

20,000 inside Bridgestone Arena watching the game ... another 60,000 (estimated) downtown in the streets watching.

Nashville has gone pretty hockey nuts this week. Pretty fun environment.
