Beaver Lake Arkansas - World Class Striper fishing and Excellent Crappie fishing
Ray Roberts Texas - Excellent Crappie and Bass fishing
Toledo Bend Texas - Undisputed Crappie Capitol of the United States, There have been more 3+ pound crappie pulled out of this lake than any other lake in the US.

And My Favorite:

Lake Fayetteville Arkansas Because it is a small lake with lots of Crappie, and most of all, it is a NO WAKE lake!

Scratch Lake Don Pedro off my list. I just got a cool beagle puppy over the summer and Don Pedro doesn't allow dogs. What is boating without your faithful hound???? LAME!

Lake Quachita pronounced (wash-i-taw) I is the cleanest lake in the country, it has every fishing scenario there is except lilly pads. The Bass fishing is incredible! also the striper are huge there have been several this year caught over 50 lbs.

Suzuki40

Jewwells........ have to agree on The ole Table Rock.....but as far as I am concerned Taney is really just a good Trout fishin river with a d**n (water stopper) at the end. Spent most of the summer on Table Rock (#1) then went up to L. O. Ozarks and remembered just how dirty it is!!!!!!! :D :)

Lake Geneva, WI It was so beautiful Hugh Heffner built his playboy club here years ago. A clear spring fed lake with wonderful places to anchor, and swim, waterski, etc. Fun little towns and good places to eat.

Since Hugh left it hasn't been quite as beautiful!! ;)

Possum Kingdom Lake near Graham, Texas. Clear water with beautiful rock terrain. Previous good fishing that's on the mend after a golden algae outbreak a couple of years ago. Great Ski lake.

What are the best ramps/restaurants/marinas? Can you get a transient slip if you can't anchor for the night? When is the water temp get comfortable?
Thanks

Lake Raystown, Central PA - beautiful mountain lake (man made). Snakes its way along 30 miles (113 miles of shoreline I believe), depths up to 190 feet, lake trout, stripers, walleye, crappie, large and smallmouth, catfish, and gators (plus every pan fish imagined). Crowded on the weekends, very solitary monday, tuesday, thursday, wednesday morn (professionals off in the afternoon), and Friday morn (weekenders come in the afternoon).

Re: LIST YOUR FAVORITE LAKES IN THE U.S.

Reading this thread reminds me that we live in the most beautiful country in the world (yes Canada included!!).
Lake Okeechobee in Florida is a huge lake that can be seen on the weather satelites and is full of diverse habitats. The fishing is fabulous and many tournaments are held there yearly. There is a canal to Lake Kissimmee Just south of Orlando. You know, home of the rodent king. If you can talk the family into a trip to Dizzy World, you can drop them off at the gate and head for Lake Kissimmee and fish yourself all of the way to Clewiston!!! :D :D
