I just could not get the dealer to see what I was trying to get at. So, I had no choice.<br /><br />With nothing being signed and #2 owner with all the right paperwork in his name only and then when the dealer did not even have a bill to show anyone, I thought, man what's this guy been smoking.<br /><br />Oh well, all well that ends well.

SBN<br /> I had a similar situation in aug of 98<br /> a man dropped of the boat with a list of work to be done. all work to be done was listed on the work order and he signed it. a week or so after the completion call,left on his answering machine, some guy claiming to be the owner comes to pick it up yet refuses to pay. he wound all up and was huffing and hoollering and threatening to whup my arse and do wild things. I called the police and my attorney. the attorney said do not release the boat unless a stolen boat report had been made and if not then to insure a warrent was sworn out for either a theft or unautherized use charge before releasing it. when the cops got there and started investigating lo and behold the owner and the drop off guy knew each other. the cop agreed with my attorney and said either swear out a warrent now or take me to court and escorted the man off my premisis, after asking if I would like to press charges for the threats against me and my wife. the man knew if he reported a theft that I would and the state would prosecute his friend. in the end I got my money. later found the same scam had been used on some other marinas.<br />but the funniest I ever got was the drunk customer that showed up raising cain about the bill and how he was not going to pay that much. his son hooked the rig up and he tossed some money at my wife and told her this is what it would have cost at his other mechanic and headed out, the cops got him pulling out and arrested him for DUI, I towed the boat back to storage and a local towing service towed the truck. then not only did I get the rest of my repair money I got 45 for towing and almost 300 for storage .
