Keel damage, how to fix

I was gifted an aluminum 12-footer. Upon closer inspection I noticed this hole or gap at the end of the keel, probably from being dragged. It doesn't leak from there but will it affect performance? How should I go about fixing this? Any advice is appreciated

Probably won't affect much as this is not a racing hull...if it bothers you, fill it with some epoxy and smooth it out.
