The guy in the hut presenting is Lucky Luckadoo who completed 25 missions and in that pic was 101 years old. An amazing veteran.

In the garden are many memorials for air crews lost and every Memorial Day 26,000 flags are put out for those who were lost….

Another blast from the Long Island aviation past.
Tommy Dorsey's band came to entertain the Rosie Riveters that were putting together P-47 Thunderbolts in East Farmingdale Long Island. They built 9,500 of them at the main plant at the corner of Conklin St and Broadhollow Rd.
My uncle worked for them during the Korean war working on F-84 Thunderjets.

I live within a few miles of the Robins Air Museum and my two boys and myself had the SR71 Blackbird fly tree top height over us for its final flight, which set a new coast to coast speed record for it as well. It is displayed at that museum along with so many other aircraft, missiles and tons of military equipment... Always a real pleasure to visit too!

I honestly couldn’t help but get a bit choked up watching some of the veteran visitors take in all the images and videos.. They weren’t saying a lot .. Just watching silently.

^^^^ Cool shots!

I have a buddy who is an amateur spelunker: we go into a couple of local caves here in Tennenssee each year. Amazing stuff.

I do get a bit claustrophobic . The smaller MRI machines I just can’t handle .. As long as I can move around I’m fine ..while in NOLA we spent some time at the big park in the sculpture museum..
This guy wasn’t very talkative but I could tell where his head was at .. LOL !

You really need to be carful around there. Somebody, or something, turned them to stone. Didn't see any snake-headed people did you?

As for the claustrophobic situations, I don't have them. I crawled through "worm tubes" (tunnels) in caves where I had to use my feet to move forward because you couldn't use your arms.

Be safe and carful...
