Those are some magnificent shots here, keep em' comin'. There are hundreds of thousands of people, maybe millions that never knew they had an eye for photography. Not that many years ago you took 36 pics and it cost you I can't remember how much, a buck a pic? Then you find that 10 didn't come out. Now you can take a thousand and delete 999 at a flick of a finger. I have hundreds saved no one will ever see. Then I download hundreds from the web I like with the intension of painting them someday, including some of these. My favorite is the Arizona rock formation, that southkogs posted, that is Art. If I make millions on it I might share some, but no copyright. I better get crackin'.

MY niece is a professional photographer, 2 years of local College and 3 years of University. Just ask my brother how much$$$. Digital has met or surpassed film, even 2" format. I'm told the only pro's using film are in their 60's or older, some use it as a hobby developing their own. I have a 2" format Hasselblad I paid $3500.00 for College almost 40 years ago that hadn't seen the light of day until I gave it to my niece for her work. My professional photographer niece currently gives tours at an Ontario Niagara Winery to pay the bills. It was a tough go even way back then to make money doing weddings, thus Ironmaking.

I also have a dozen or so film cameras. As well as a few separate light meters I got Dad's Super 8 movie camera as well as the long horizontal light tree. From the 60's. My sis in law put them on digital DVD and enhanced some. I was floored when I 1st saw the old grainy 8MM restored. I was 8 years old in some. Wowza. I have Mom's Brownie she got after the war as a gift. I have a 2" format Hasselblad that cost me 3500 bucks in 73' for my College Photography course at Sheridan College outside Toronto. I still have it but value Mom's little Brownie more. My wife has her Great Grand Fathers Lieca as well as a few others worth some bucks today. A few shows Ironworkers building the 1st bridge across Niagara Falls. Some pics he took out west in Arizona and Nevada showing horses lashed to posts outside the Saloon. A few of cowpokes brandishing their 6 shooters. Late 1800's I would guess. He would have been under the hood to take some early pics then. History is amazing to me. Especially when you have subjects related over 100 years ago.

I've still got three of my old workhorse 35mm and my Yaschicamat. I shot a lot on Minolta SRTs. I had gotten a Panasonic Lumix that we used for family vacations for quite a while. It's a very good little camera, and very capable. I just bought a Nikon D3300 last year and I'm still getting used to the difference of a true DSLR.

80% of what I'm shooting now is coming off my iPhone though. And frankly, I'm not that disappointed in what I get. It's become a surprisingly good camera.

sphelps - those are some very nice shots!

If I had time to mess with the processing I'd be hunting an old Hasselblad 500. Dad has a great collection - an old Kodak 35mm that I did most of my early learning on, a Leica that he shot TONS of stuff on, and a buncha' others. Land camera, Brownie Hawkeye, etc.
