Just picked up a 1993 magna 17.

It has no motor. Max is 115hp but I would like to go around 50hp.Would that be too under powered? Those big motors too rich for my blood .Retired on fixed income.

That's a light tin boat. 50hp will put it on plane for sure. Your just not going to impress the bass crowd

I wouldn't be afraid to go a little older to get some more hp... A Looper 3cyl Johnnyrude would do well for not a lot of money

Thanks for the info .Not looking to impress just fish with the grankids got 5 an retired. Thanks again any info about that bout is appreciated.
