I hear ya, we just had a whole week of storms here. This weekend though... mid 90's and clear skies. I'm out there already!

Another week of rain, hopefully painting on Saturday and flipping her over on Sunday. I have all components ready to go! I wanted a June 30th splash, could happen. Jupiter and Venus will be hanging in the western sky that evening, only .3 degrees apart. Perfect.

The rain finally stopped, the bottom and half the sides are painted! We flipped her over onto the newly painted trailer! I applied Gluvit and we're ready for flotation foam. So, does the pink foam squeak against itself, the hull or the deck? How can it be avoided? Woodonglass suggested silicone, where is that applied?

HD pink panther rigid foam is fine, no one has reported squeaks below decks, no need for the silicone

I can only remember one of us mentioning squeaks. InMotion I think and he said they went away. My foam never squeaked.

The posts I found were from around 2011. I had to ask, rattles and squeaks make me crazy! I do the searches through Google, it seems to yield more iboats results, or more iboats results specific to your question.

Ready for second coat of paint, I spent two days sanding the first one. Bummer.

Flipped, Gluvit applied, waiting for flotation foam. I have new tires and wheels, these are from 1996. Yikes!

Crescent moon, Venus and Jupiter, a beautiful Colorado evening! I don't think I'm going to make my June 30th splash. :(

Wrong again - It was lakelover. Here was his fix;

Re: Will pink insulation board squeak?

Yep, but check out my post #276 at the tlp of this page: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=309879&page=12

Mine squeaked like crazy, I laid down a layer of 4-mil clear plastic sheet over the top of it, and it is totally silent now. I think it will hold up because it will get no UV exposure.

And jasonoutside said the squeaks went away, same as for me.

Re: Will pink insulation board squeak?

If it's of any value...

On my Jet Star project...

When I first secured the deck, it was squeaky like crazy. I thought "OOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhnnnnnnnnnoooooooo!!!!!" Cuz I really hate squeaks and rattles n stuff.

Funny thing happened, it went away, pretty quickly too. Why? I dunno. Just rubbed or something? Maybe the friction just smoothed/slicked it out?

Got me:confused:

But I was happy all the same:D

So maybe and then again maybe not.
