Lapping it is a 5 min job. As racerone said only a dab is needed. Done plenty of go kart flywheels. It’s easy peasy. You’ll be fine
Nothing but rain. I've had the boat cover off for the last 2 weeks to clean up the boat some. Probably scoot out and recover in the rain and get set up.Go kart racing engine flywheels… just to clarify.
Yup looking forward to it and hopefully a resolution. Guys over in Johnson Evinrude engine forum have helped me out a lot.Sheared pin is always gonna mess with timing. You’ll be able to lap that flywheel in no time flat. Gonna be 50 degree’s in our neck of the woods this weekend. You might be able to sort out the engine this weekend.
The orientation of the crank to flywheel is determined by the key way.I removed the sheared flywheel key. Generally the areas look clean.
A question came up that do I need to have the flywheel at tdc when I place the key and reset. Comment was in regards to piston positions. Did some research and only found 1 reference to that suggestion.
Thanks guys. I haven't read my manual in this regard. It did peak my curiosity.
To all you guys a Very Big Thank you!I found this link to start with. On to the next engine fix.
thanks
