j70tleda stuck trying to drop the lower unit

i have eveything ready to drop the lower unit but cant get the pin to come out of the shift rod connector. can anyone help.

Go to shop.evinrude.com and look up your mtr and go to cyl and crank case section. Look for pin # 87 and pull that. Then push the shift arm to port which will disconnect the shift rod.

thanks man. i knew i was messing up a step in the procedure. she dropped like a sack of potatoes.
