Issues to look for on a 89' Stingray SVB 176

I am looking at buying an 89' Stingray, 140 Mercruiser that looks to be in great shape from the pictures. What I am looking for is information on common issues that I might look for with this model. I have bought one used boat in the past and found out the hard way on transom rot, so I definitely be looking for a weak transom. Thanks

It will most likely be rotten in the same places and ways as your last one, maybe worse.

28 year old boat, so there is really nothing special to look for, it is pretty much everything, and as you mentioned . . . the rot.

Also, see what it has for a fuel tank. If it is aluminum, it might need a new one.
