Is there more wood

Replacing transom on my 1990 2651 Bayliner. My restoration is in another post. Managed to rip out down to the outer layer. Question is…..there seems to be no more wood on either side of the center transom. Just fiberglass. Pics below . I’m pointing to the area in question. Can someone confirm? Thanks in advance.

That is very much like my 16' Capri.
Just wood in the center, heavy layup on either side.
