They said it was intentional and had "practiced" it. That play isn't called till the play starts ... it doesn't automatically stop the clock. Since it was a running clock when it happened, the referee stops to clock at the end of the play to see if the other team wants to keep the play or accept the penalty. When the ball is set, the clock starts again. It shows a lot of football awareness, but is a shame that this was used to aid in the victory.What surprised me is that any time came off the clock.
