Re: I/O vs outboard

I think my comment is objective. Ask a typical lady who likes to sunbathe if she prefers a typical OB well, or a CC with OB bracket, or a padded sun lounge, and get back to me :)

my girls catch plenty of rays on my CC OB--while they also catch flounder, stripers, sharks and whatever else. Lucky for me all my girls are the active type and would rather have a pole in their hand than just lie there face down....

I think your girls are atypical. Lucky for you. That was my point :)

My smokin hot wife likes to sunbathe on the uninhabited barrier islands off NC. I/O's don't go there (that I've ever seen).

Not atypical at all 'round these parts. Lotta women fish. Some start earlier than others:

Not that this has anything to do with the IO vs OB debate ...

I was going to say, how did this thread turn into a girly thread????????????????

My preference is OB, had both. Around here, OBs for fishing, I/Os for cruzing/playing. You rarely see an I/O used for fishing. If you do, they're not very serious.....

You should know better, Bart. And Ms. Krabappel (RIP) is checking your spelling.

....how did this thread turn into a girly thread????????????????

1) Girlys are high maintenance, completely on topic
2) Girlys impact longevity, and
3) It's the I/O's biggest strength

My preference is OB, had both. Around here, OBs for fishing/everyday use, Inboards for commercial or heavy cruising. You rarely see an I/O. If you do, they paid cash for the boat. :D

I was just perusing and then saw the post by Home Cookin'...it has probably the best statement of the whole thread...sorry I couldn't resist! LOL!

my girls catch plenty of rays on my CC OB...Lucky for me all my girls are the active type and would rather have a pole in their hand than just lie there face down....

~Brett

As Philster (iboats member who had a 24' Checkmate) used to say "Date an inboard...marry an outboard"!

P.S. OUTBOARD...faster weight to HP ratio, Winterization ease, boat space, speed, did I mention speed?

Girl--outboard--pole in hand--fish on--and no "sundeck" in the way!

Re: I/O vs outboard

I think we should mandate only one boat design for all people. That would solve this.

Re: I/O vs outboard

I kind of like I/O for the swim platform options, also that the drive can be tilted up for shallows versus an Inboard where the prop is where it is all the time, but at the same time I don't really like that big hole in the transom either in an I/O. What to do....
