Today's progress...
Preparing for a leak test tomorrow!
After a year of being worked on, stepped in, manhandled and otherwise bumped around, I figured that the KF could use a leak test to be certain that it will remain dry after being painted. And after all that work, I sure don't want to just slap some paint on, put it back together and find out that it leaks after the re-splash! Not after 3 years of being bone dry! :nono:
First things first. Got the boat out of the shop so that the boy could do a quick cleanup. (Major cleanup follows at a later date.)
My buddy came over and helped us get things moved around. KF outside, inside ready for cleanup.
The boy kept at it with the blower and got all the dust outta there!
We lined the bow to the trailer.
We added a tow strap to the winch strap to provide the length needed to crank the boat back up onto the trailer.
Then we raised the front of the trailer onto a work bench, giving an up angle to the job, making alignment easier.
While cranking the boat up, I used my own personal bulk to anchor the work bench to keep it from moving around while the boy winched. :tongue-new:
The boy insisted on doing all the winching. At this point, the trailer tongue is back on the ground and he's finishing up.
Back outside and on the trailer!
Ready for the leak test!
