No physical work done today but I did do some computer work. It's not to scale and doesn't show everything, but it gets the point across.
Talked with a guy today who gave me a different perspective on the trespasser situation. I'd explained that I completely understand
why the people want to take the route they're taking. Walking down my driveway and through the vacant lot saves them about 1 1/2 miles of walking. Reasonable, but still trespassing.
But they're only trespassing on my driveway, not my property, now that the fence is up. The adjacent empty lot doesn't belong to me but I fenced off the entrance in order to dissuade them. I just don't like them walking a few feet from my truck and boat. The fella I spoke with said that I should simply provide the trespassers a pathway to get from my road on the north end to their place on the south end which wouldn't make me nervous. Hmmm... says I. Been thinking about it ever since and drew up a couple diagrams. No decisions have been made thus far though.
NOTE: My wife doesn't like the idea of the trespassers still coming down our driveway in order to get to the pathway. A very good point.
Anywho, here's what I have. Would appreciate comments on the idea and any other options I may have.
This is the path that the trespassers are currently taking. Down my drive (the adjacent portion is rougher) and then switching over to the vacant lot at the junction.
The option mentioned above is to block off most of the clearing and all along the west side of my property line with logs, trees, etc. in order to "guide" the walkers to an easier path which is farther away from my place and truck and boats and whatnot. But they'd still use my drive, which I honestly don't like.
