ok thank u...still trying figure out what the two drain holes are up above the bilge pump is.. they are at the top of the valley the bilge sits in ..and they are wet..water didnt come pouring out of them ..but there is plenty of moisture in them.. like i said i took the boat out ..and was on the water for bout five hours and it seemed fine..but now im freaking out thinking something bad is wrong..shouldnt have wet grimy stuff in those holes where the plugs go..

I'll get some pics of it in here tomm for sure. Yes I think there is wood in there. I think the holes lead up to the whole boat to the front. So I'm worried now

sounds like a drain hole to me if water gets under your floor thats where it will come out or go in

That's what I was kinda thinking. And hoping since I just bought the thing ..don't want think I bought a sinker..but I had it out on water for bout five hours. Seemed good to me

Yes its all new deck. Not doubled up. Me n wife. Had it out no prob..nice n sturdy. Stiff

here are the holes they are straight across from each other..up towards the top of the valley.., my bilge is in...dont know what they are for..i put plugs in them,, before i put the boat out on water,,didnt seem to have any leak problems,,was on the lake for bout five hours fishing..but bout week after pulled the plugs out and had moisture in them and wet grimy stuff..im hoping they are for if water gets in the deck ..but i didnt get any water in the deck area when i had it out..so im freaking out lol...first time owning a boat..

here are some new pics...anyoneknow what model it is..title says 1966 starcraft 14 ft.. thats it..the steering wheel has been cut out no cables or linkages or idle controls...like to knoiw the model..and if it would be worth setting it back up to the steering like it was..im pretty good at fabricating things..been a mechanic shop owner with my father for tweny years...my transom is about 25 inches from the top to the keel..and seems to past the tap test.....i need to start shopping for the motor wondering what hp i should get to be safe..and try finding steering stuff..pretty sure i could build the box to put the steering and everything on it..

the holes do look like they are just drain holes what does the front of the boat look like ?

the front of the boat is tri hull...and shape wise its not bad shape at all...ok let me put it to ya llike this.. if i removed the deck floor..and then cut out the fiberglass floorsits like the drain hoiles would be for this part of the boat..took some better pics,,they are in the bilge area..one on right side ..one on left side...in the bilge area..so i dont really know what they are for...just dont thinkthere should be moisture in them..like u said i think there is wood inside them dunno..lol..but when i took the new plugs out i put into them after having it on the lake..water didnt come pouring out of them...so maybe its for the hull of the boat incase i spring a leak..it can drain to my bilge pump...if thats what their for...then i would think if it looks wet in the holes..water or moisture coming in from somewhere

hey everyone...im backtook the boat out this weekend..me my father and my son.. had a blast...i bought a 25hp suzuki motor runs absolutley perfect...for hell of price too 140 dollars...been looking for one since i bought the boat...had small problem though need some advice...the motor the way i had it trimmed i think was wrong..im going to take some pics and post and see if u guys can help me figure it out...and i think i need to reinforce my transom some how...didnt seem real weak..just think i could use some help n trying to figure out how..mount the motor better...plzzzzzz help me...im new at all this...but god it was a high taking it out on the water...

should i run some carriage bolts through the bottom plate of transom on motor...and the way the pin is set in the pic..is that right or do i run it all the down on the other in inside the plate..and what could i do to sturdy the boats transom..doesnt seem to be rotted..just seems like i should reinforce..would transom aluiminukm plate work to help sturdy..the way the pin is set in the pic...is not the way i ran it.. i ran it with the pin its sitting on now down..and motor locked into the pin inside...seemed like it was in too much of angle...the motor should be straight right...i was looking at everyonre elses boat yesterday while we were out..and theres were straight..mine was in angle..so plzzz help me out ..first boat ive owned dont want to screw it up ..any advice on any of my questions ...will be greatly accepted...
