I am looking to build a frame structure that will assist with the removal of the top of my boat from the hull. I saw a couple of such things on shareaproject.com but the sight appears to down. I am looking for ideas from people who have done such seperations. I plan to do a drawing package for others just like my O/B motor stand so others can also build such a device.

I was looking to do some kind of A-Frame device. Here is my rough idea, but like I said I am looking for some ideas. Let me know what you got.

we had a great share a project for reference, apparently has died, you are on the right track, very similar to what he did.

i used six 10 foot 4x4 posts, stuck in cement. i attached pulleys to the posts and used rope for lifting and lowering. i left the top cap suspended throughout the entire project with cross-supports running between the 4x4's.

whatever you do, the most weight will be around the dash and windshield areas so be sure to have more support there.
