How to find out if foam was used

I have a 65 Glaspar Avalon. I need to know if floatation foam would have been used in new manufacture? Does anybody know how to find out?

There is no evidence that there was ever foam anywhere on this boat.

My 1960 Glaspar Avalon did NOT have any floatation foam.

I am new to boat restoration so I am no clear as to the purpose of the foam.
Is it to make the boat float during normal use or is it there in case the hull is swamped?

has nothing to do with normal use. it is there to try to keep it from completely sinking, in an emergency.

Only helps if it's swamped, it won't adjust the attitude of the boat unless your sinking.

Foam only needs to be in the gunnals.
Under the deck-sucks water.
Ir you swamp, only foam at the top would keep a swamper from capsizing.

Thanks all. No foam for me thanks. I don't think it had it origanally and I am only putting my 35 hp johnson on her so I'm not too worried about making holes or waves coming over the stern. I'll just bee tooling around on small lakes trying to find the dang fish that the Division of Wildlife says they put in the lakes.​
