Re: How old is your boat?

Have 3 for different situations. The one used most is the Citation. 23 years young.

I saved it from a sure demise. Sitting on the side of the road for years.

The Trihull is great for lakes and never kissed salt water.

The jon boat is good for sneaking up on bass in small lakes.

20+club for me also... Mine was bought back in 87 new by my uncle.. I was only 4 years old at the time... I always loved it as a kid.. He owned it for several years in NC then moved to the florida keys and kept it down there for around 4 years and it almost got stolen.. then he moved back to NC And sold it to a friend of his... he owned it for a couple years and decided he could not do nothing with it.. He was on hard times and sold it to a friend of my uncle for 1500 then that guy sold it to my uncle for 2000, and in 2006 my uncle gave it to me... It is a 1987 21' 211 liberator teal and blue with a new bravo housing and freshened up 454... I have not had it in the water yet but i am getting close.. The first two years i had it it was in NC and I was in South Florida... Thats why it has taken so much time but well worth it.. I had to do a complete restore on the inside with the upholstery and fix the floor and rotten wood

I have a 1954 Caddilac 16' v bottom with a 1983 30 HP Mariner. I use it mainly for fishing, but built a flat deck in the middle so the girls can sun bath while i fish works out great. I don't have a payment and i catch something to eat. Then we grill when we get back to shore.

Reinell is 1975 and Bayliner is 1989. It seems like with older boats, it's good to have more than one, that way maybe one of them will be working. If your luck runs out, they'll both break down at the same time.

Since ours is from 1968, there isn't any HIN, and no title. Only identification on the hull is the Builder's Plate, which gives the serial number of the hull.

In NY, they use "transferable" registration to prove ownership on vessels built before 1973.

Re: How old is your boat?

I love old boats! I hate new stuff covered in vinyl and carpet with plastic drinkholders everywhere. I love old wooden boats and hope to build a Chris Craft replica someday.

I have only two boats and a canoe at this time, but the one I really use is my 1964 MFG Niagara Deluxe / 40hp Suzuki. This boat has been so good to me and has nothing in it that can rot. A little underpowered with kids on the tube, but I use it most of the time to fish walleye and other gamefish here in Vermont. Would love to duplicate the boat with a little deeper V, about 16" wider beam, and about a 16- to 17-foot length, and a 70 or 90 hp eTec.

Don't like most of the new boats but at the Vermont boat show over the weekend there was a Sylvan and a Smokercraft I could enjoy but their tags were more than a full year of my daughters college tuition. Plus there is so little to enjoy tweaking on a new boat :)

Re: How old is your boat?

I just recently purchased, as my first boat, a 1974 Skakespeare Wondercraft 14B Tri-Hull by Moody (or so it says on the title). It is powered by a Montgomery Wards Sea King 7 HP motor.

The newest addition to our fleet would be our 1986 Blue Fin tinny that we got about two weeks ago. 1986 Evinrude 50 VRO and 86 EZ Loader trailer.

The boat I'm rebuilding now is a '68 MFG. Also have a small aluminum Sea Nymph from the early '90s. BOB
