thats how i did my last couple of seats...works out pretty good like that, especially if you have an irregular shaped base

nice work the mrd, jumping on board as i will probably end up redoing my seats. i do not like the pattern on the seats currently.

i'll be back onto finishing up my seats as soon as the weather turns, and i can't work outdoors anymore

well...dusted off the sewing machine...also made room on my table for a second machine...my little girls want to play around with sewing...
more seats coming soon...

we have all been there. I have a project car that has had more miles being moved in the last 20 years than it has rolled on its own wheels.

Seats looks amazing!

About to start mine here pretty soon. I've done a couple small upholstery jobs over the years. Including a golf cart seat, a couple chairs, and an engine cover for my parent's boat. All of which already existed and just needed repair/upgrade. The seats I'll be doing will be a little trickier because they're going to made from scratch - nothing to go by but imagination and the Internet, of course. Was just doing a little research to refresh my memory on the basics of seat making and stumbled on this thread. Great thread!! Thanks for taking the time to show us how you did yours.

Also, I like your saltillo tile that can be seen in the background in a couple of your pictures. I have the same in my sunroom. Yours, however, is in a lot better shape than mine. Haha

resurrecting the restore of the old banana...which also means finishing the seats....still have the seat bottoms and backs for the dinnette area and also the captain's chair....also have to find where i stored all the seats i already made....
