Right, swabbie, but we aren't laughing at you. It is very dry here, so the THI is just a degree or two over the temp. Today it got to 114* at The Hideout and the THI was only 116*.

I went out to the P.O. and my sweat evaporated so fast that my shirt didn't even get wet. Have to drink about a gallon of water or Gatorade a day

The most miserable I ever was was S. Florida when it was in the high 90s. Went out the door and my glasses fogged before I got to the car, went to the supermarket and my car windows were fogged up when I came back out. Took a deep breath and dang near drowned. About the same on Guam.

A humid THI of 100* is a lot harder to take than a dry 116*.

I once spent a week in Phoenix when it was 110 working in the shade and I was amazed that I wasn't even sweating.

Its taking until about 10pm for the temp to come down into double digits here. And no its really not that bad to work in as long as you keep hydrated. But just let me say this, I have traveled a bit in my life and out in New mexico/Arizona/utah/nevada/california etc 115 is a vacation for a south texas person. That dry heat is so wonderful! When its 105 along the gulf coast, that would darn near kill some western folks. Much less the 110 plus lately.

raymond you must be younger then me, I can hardly work in this humidity anymore. I'll take that dry 100+ over humid 95 any day.

95 here is SE Ga with 104 heat index. They predicted heat index up to 117 today. The is nasty in this humidity here.

Well I feel for you guys, woke up today and it was 58 at my home, with dew points in the low 50's as well. High today is 74.

But this is our first break from the humid crap for sometime......I suspect the dew points will crawl back into the 70's and low 80's again.

had a low this morning of 78...brrr
i think the high today was 105 but with the constant wind tunnel breeze we've had it felt like a convection oven. at 8pm it's 101.

the leaves on many trees are turning brown and starting to drop. 6' left before the last public ramp on lake travis is closed. 16' before some of the local communities lose access to water. local watering restrictions are a joke, too. forecast calls for another la nina this year which started this drought back-up last fall.

86 year old record bites the dust today. today will be our 69th day over 100 degrees. last time that happened was 1925.

today- 105 then 106, 105, 108, 108, 106, 105...i missed a 107 in there somewhere.

I feel your pain salty87, day 52 here of 100+ temps & forecast 102 102 104 101 104 101 99, whew in only 7 days we could be below 100. that sure will feel good if the weatherman is right. lol

A buddy out of Longview said he'd killed a mosquito that was carrying a canteen.

A man in Dime Box said the chicken farmers were giving the chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs.

In Lake Palestine , they caught a 20 lb catfish that had ticks on it!

But just this week, in Bryan, a fire hydrant was seen bribing a dog.

It's so dry in Texas that the Baptists are starting to baptize by sprinkling, the Methodists are using wet-wipes, the Presbyterians are giving out rain-checks, and the Catholics are praying for the wine to turn back into water.

121 today in Lake Havasu City, AZ at 4 pm. 119 yesterday at about the same time. Our humidity isn't as high as it is in the south but it is high enough. Not a dry heat these past few days

We have had maybe 5 days below 100 degrees since June

RELIEF Almost hate to tell you Texas folks this but this past weekend we went from 98 on Sat. to the 70's on Sun. All this week we've had low's in the low 50's and high's in the low 70's with a strong breeze out of the north. I noticed high pressure was still keeping the heat down in Texas and to add insult to injury now you've got wildfires.

Hang in there, fall is just around the corner.
