hole in hull

I have a patched hole in the hull, i bought it like this, it looks like some bog then clear resin over it, but they just slapped it on, is there anyway to repair hole myself nicely, and flush with some gel coat instead.

i cant get to it from under my deck, so it will have to be an outside of hull repair

Grind up the hole and chafe the edges so you have about 2" of fresh laminate.
Use a thin plate of ABS/wood or whatever non corrosive bigger than the hole, put on the inside and glue to the hull.
Now you have a backing to add glassfiber/polyester and rebuild.
