I guess it would depend on if it was a mare or a nag .
A horse is a horse of course....

This may be about the only thread I can voice what gets me about noob boat work. This happens here and worst of all in the FB Starcraft closed group. They say for instance "I'm thinking about using truck bed liner on my "floor" what other options are there? My reply is that stuff belongs in your truck bed not on the deck of your boat, Nautolex vinyl is the way to go. The noob totally discounts this and was only looking for others to agree with them and that they decided on using the bed liner.

The other is that freaking handy man in a can Flex-Seal, they all want to smear that garbage inside their boats, some before even asking about what best to use.

Isn't that the truth, I just had a conversation about that the other day with a local guy and had to walk away shaking my head.

I personally like Line-X on the insides of fishing boats. then again, that is not a DIY process. the guys in Sarasota actually developed a coating specifically for boats https://sarasotalinex.com/

A work or utility boat I can see that being an option but as a cruiser / fishing boat where you enjoy your surroundings not so much. I'm currently working on a friends 18' 1964 I/O Holiday that needed some serious attention and the entire inside of it is professionally coated with a very thick layer of Line-X. Not one screw or rivet is showing and that will be a serious issue some day. Also the feel inside is cheap and plasticized, not to my liking at all.

I was thinking that, since we have no idea what ol' Rick is boating in, if he was rowing in a canoe then he was doing pretty good, but declined to post it there :)

Come on Mac..... you can picture the person....first searching you tube....then twitter....then google......and finding the website.....then quickly signing up (not setting up the profile with email and notification) and asking a question thinking he would get an immediate response....then forgetting his log-in and password....

reminds me of my step son.

Either Rickself was scared off by the humorous responses, was a troll, or he is still puttering around at 5mph and hasn't made it back to the dock yet ...

He has been on the forum since posting the 'boat no go' thread, but has not posted anything else. Last time he was 'here' was last evening.

Ohh I don't think you'll need to resurrect it as its like the Energizer Bunny...it keeps going and going and going and...

It's been funny with the...ID my boat (no pics or other info), Will my vehicle tow my boat (and that's all the info you get), etc, etc, etc.

The worst, in my humble opinion, are those that can't punctuate a blessed sentence so that it's all one big run on with multiple thoughts/issues. Makes me wonder about those who will eventually be leading the country. I'm waiting for LOL to show up in a bill/legislation!

My personal favorites:

1) Where is my VIN
2) There is water leaking, where is it coming from? No further info given
3) What is the best boat brand/ Bowrider? These are my options.... 3 different 30 year old boats
4) What prop do I need? No RPM or current prop info given
5) My engine won't start, what do I look for?
6) "Do a compression test/pressure test of something" Comes back while not doing either, still with the same problem "I think its this" (Not even related to the issue) "No, did you do the tests?" No answer...

And anyone who needs help searching the forum, use the google machine. Type"iboats:" then the issue, it will only search this website and display the results.... Maybe this should be posted in a sticky somewhere?

MOD REMINDER - Only one Grump old guy that plays with boats can resurrect this thread if it ever reaches 90 days of of inactivity. Mostly newbies post in dead threads.
