I would put the batteries in plastic trays though, acid will rot that plywood real easy.

I'm currently running one battery, and it's in a plastic battery box on the battery tray. I run the box so that if things flood, I'll have an airspace at the top of my battery that will keep if from shorting out. Hopefully. That's the intention anyway.

Really nice repair job. Especially considering the mess you had to work with. So glad to see it worked out great.
