Nice piece of historical research, and time spent to help a young boater Mr. T Penfield. Very impressive and especially for a guy with your apparent financial status. I do enjoy your responses although you are well above my boating league and as a result your answers don't fit my low end boating lifestyle...but I read them anyway....you and a handful of other resourceful participants on this forum. No doubt you will have impressed this young lad and surely activate his enthusiasm for the sport.Using the HINDecoder website, here is the info on the boat and company (which is out of business). . . .

I was not aware that I had an apparent financial status. Please share that with my Admiral, as she is constantly reminding me of our poverty.Nice piece of historical research, and time spent to help a young boater Mr. T Penfield. I just got the paperwork and it doesn’t say much it says 1982 galixie but i appreciate you guys your all awesomeYou should have received paperwork with the boat to transfer ownership to you or a parent/legal guardian. Depending on the state this may be a title for boat and trailer OR may be transferable registration. Either way, without the ability to register the boat in your name I wouldn't sink a single penny into it until ownership is straightened out.
I’ve got the Johnson evenrude 140. Two stroke lol out board it’s cool just bought new throttle moduleIs it a jet drive inboard or does it need an engine? The Olds 455CID/Berkeley Jet combo was a popular motor back in that day.
Obviously check it for rot, especially the deck.
I have an Avenger from the mid-70s, which is pretty similar.
I think the Old 455 was over rated as being a good Engine for a Jet Drive. Jets like RPMs and the Old is a little Lethargic, at high Rpm, even in its higher performance versions. A Buick 455 would have been a better choice, but for some reason the OIds got the nod. Maybe because it was used as an Industrial Engine, in small Powerplants and Pumping Stations.OK A question for a powerplant. What was the performance of a 455 Olds with a Berkeley jet in the 80s. I never heard about a win in any race. Of course, I have not followed the races.
What year?I’ve got the Johnson evenrude 140. Two stroke lol out board it’s cool just bought new throttle module
I think it is an 81 I have to do a lil more research lol what kind of boat do you have? What year?
