Help 87 skeeter starfire 175

Hello i just got s 87 skeeter starfire 175 for $100 lol. Im an starting to restore it and i noticed that it appears to have had something between the motor and the boat at one time. it has an outline of seal in a square pattern extending outside the motor bolt holes? Was there a plate there at one time and do i need to replace it? By the way the motor runs good and the boat was kept inside except the last 3 years so i will be doing some work on it and posting pictures as i go new decals and all. Im sure there will be some problems i will need help with as i go through it.

Jackplate most likely. Sometimes people with a weak transom will add a plate to help but it's just a bandaid and not a very good one.
