Heavy oxidation Removal

Any tips to remove heavy oxidation. Was going to start with the Meguiers kit and their heavy oxidation remover but wanted some ideas in case that doesn't work. Or what is a way to determine the level of oxidation? Any suggestions welcome.

Pictures will help. I went 600 wet sand. 1000 1500 3000. The meguires ultra cut buffing compound. Then wax. It went from dusty haze to a show car shine.

Everyone has their ways and opinions. But you cannot deny this flat worked. There is more than one way to skin a cat. and my cat has no skin at all.

Yours turned out great, but except for multiple colors, was the easiest type to bring back.

You never got thru the clear gel when you sanded it, right? I dont recall from your topic about it.....

Fiberglass hull, no metal flake, but a ,92 Searay Bow Rider if that helps identify the gel coat type. Is there a way to tell how much gelcoat I have to work with, if that is even a thing. Is a good assumption to start mild and work for from there? I am hoping to do some work this week so I will try to grab some pics. As always you guys on this forum are an awesome source of info for us newbies!

No mine is solid color through to the white gel under it. It had the spot it rubbed through from banging on the dock forever, And thank you I was very impressed with how it came out.

Just tying to give back for all the help I got. Forgive me for being rambunctious.

On mine at least it is a very thick gel coat.

Pick a spot in a hidden area for me it was under the swim deck. I sanded and did a 6 inch circle. Gel coat is tough. I put some on and had to sand it back off because my color was off. Oh it is real tough.

Sand with 1000 that wont take nothing off buff it and see if your happy. if not got harsher. Like i said wet sanding with a sponge block still took some effort.

I did the whole side before I got to the call letters and noticed yea it looked great. But i had ghosting of the old lettering. So I then went to 600 and re did the entire side.

I never went through or got thin anywhere.

As for type of gel coat you got regular run of the mill stuff i got. Same gel coat type just a different color mix.

Just the oxidation remover alone made the gel coat shine... I have not yet even got to the polish or wax yet and I already love the results....
