I agree. Hold me liable if my two year old grandkid shoots her brother but...I have zero problem with the permitting process, after the sale I will not comply with any laws about how those weapons are stored in my home. Minnesota wanted to pass a safe storage act that said gun must be stored empty and ammo kept in a separate locked container. Hard no.
good guess! This is by the cdc, yes that cdc, 2013Couple hundred thousand??
Actually wasn’t really a guess. Those numbers were talked about in a self defense course I took about ten years agogood guess! This is by the cdc, yes that cdc, 2013
That's ridiculous. Leave it to Mn. I used to live there for many, many years...I have zero problem with the permitting process, after the sale I will not comply with any laws about how those weapons are stored in my home. It's not about proving the same point. It is about making sure that you remember the right way. I remember, that when going on reserve duty. Always on the first day, there was the ritual of the refreshing course in first aid and in gun care. We could and would also bring in our private weapons to have them inspected. The army thought of it as a smart thing to do. But I guess every army has its own traditions.Yeah, I agree. Professional career fields are always evolving and the people involved have to stay on top of things. However, if you know how to safely operate a firearm then you know. No need to keep proving the same point.
People use a gun in the US a couple hundred thousand times a year to stop and deter a crime. They seldom have to fire it but just displaying, showing, pointing is enough to stop or prevent a crime. This information comes from a book by John Lott titled More Guns, Less Crime. John Lott is an econoomics professor who has done in depth studies on guns and crime. He started out as an anti gun guy but after his research became a staunch pro gun and pro second amendment.. He’s written several books, all of them quite interesting and factual. If you want “ammunition “ to debate anti gun and anti 2A zealots arm yourself with the facts and read some of his books. A couple of his books include Gun Control Myths, The War on Guns, and More Guns, Less Crime. And more. All excellent reads.curious if anyone on here knows the official stats on self defense firearm incidents per year.

Read his publications and draw your own conclusions. Wikipedia is a left leaning and left biased . Multiple studies, including two from Harvard researchers, found a left-wing bias at Wikipedia in both article content and editor sanctioning.
Figured that would be the response.Wikipedia is a left leaning and left biased
Kept my guns in the house when the kids were born. My kids also never had a toy gun because in my belief a gun should never be thought of as a toy. I have loaded guns in my home when guests and my grandsons are in my home. I have drawers within the drawers on the night stands and the shot gun is in a concealed panel. That being said there is no human on earth that can approach my home without being detected and alerted, and on camera. When my kids were young I decided to let a friend hang on to my guns so they weren’t in the house. Except for one black power pistol that was not able to fire. It was in a box in the basement that I assumed would never be found but I was wrong and one day my son asked me about it. Kids get into everything.
They are long out of the house now. I do keep my ammo and gun in the same case but the case is locked and there is a trigger lock on the pistol. It takes a few extra seconds but that’s a chance I have to take to be sure it doesn’t end up in the wrong hands.
Not sure why you figured that but my response is factual and truth. As far as I recall I’ve never expressed any politics or political views on this site but perhaps there is such a post I do not remember. I do not visit this site with the purpose of expressing political views.Figured that would be the response.
You may have found some inaccuracy in the Winky link I posted, but just saying it's left leaning means no more to me then another saying I don't believe that. There are links in the links to the research papers. Not sure why you figured that but my response is factual and truth.
