I love seeing another old boat re-vitalized and used once again. Something is very satisfying about doing that yourself instead of just writing a check for a new one. Plus older boats have a nice distinctive style and are not all bulbuous and rounded like most of today's designs.

I hear ya Lou. I kind of detest the newer "bulbous and rounded" styling as well. If I were buying new I would look for something with more traditional styling.

Glad she is on the water. Still think you need a plexi doghouse to show off that engine bay...

Jason, how 'bout if I just cut two windows, one in the front and one on the top of the fiberglass doghouse, then just rivit in a couple of sheets of plexi? <br /><br />Hey good idea, then I could wire in a 12 v flourescent tube up in the top front corner of the dog house.

Yeah KaGee, the flourescent light lasted two days in mine. I really didn't want to see the dust bunnies anyway.

I was reading an article on small crusiers in the 24-28 foot class and someone descirbed them as looking like Clorox bottles!<br />Someone is selling a 1973 Chris Craft 25' crusier with a recent re-power. It is a beautiful boat and better yet a straight inboard which I would prefer leaving it on a mooring in salt water. Why can't we have boats like that now?<br />all the smaller cruisers are Clorox bottle and only I/O.<br />I do like the style of the Shamrock fishing boats, esp the ones withe Keel Drive system (all running gear protected by the keel). But they are pricey even when well used, maybe some day~~<br />www.fishtheclassic.net<br /><br />PS it gives me even more pleasure to see it because it is an OMC powered boat, goes to show you the supposed bad rep is not deserved <br />I'm going to keep mine going as long as I can get the parts and I can have the best OMC shop in Long Island work on mine!

the only nice thing I can say about the Clorox bottle boat is they DO have very nice interiors!----sure would like to have 2 of them plush captains chairs on my 79'searay 260
