Also, the U-Joint, and Shift cable bellows can let water inside the boat, and if they tear completely from being dry-rotted, You might get pretty wet watching your new toy sink.
I know you are excited to get it on the water ASAP, but these guys aren't giving you this advice to make your boat as good as new, it's to make it safe and so you can make it back on the maiden voyage. Nothing worse that watching all that hard work and money go under, or up in smoke/steam because you didn't check/fix something before splashing it.
I hope this doesn't come off as rude, or mean, but it's that important.
Looks like a good find man, especially if the rest of the interior looks like that one seat in the picture.
Another thing that's a good idea to check is to make sure the Coil, Distributor, Starter, and Alternator are all Marine Certified. Marine units are designed to be safer around the fuel vapors, to help prevent explosions. Also make sure the blower works, and the tubes are still in one piece....to get the fumes out of the engine compartment.
