Lobster, Blue Claw Crab, Clams, Mussles, Bluefish, Striped Bass, Fluke (Flounder), Sea Bass, Hamburgers and Hot Dogs, good ole corn on the cob, and BEER, makes for a customary Cookout here.

Living on the largest off-shore island in the USA, tends to make it common for seafood to be the main ticket.

Plus, the seafood can be free, if your willing to get out there and get um!

Good old road kill here in central PA. Don't matter the meat, just scrap it off the road and throw it on the grill. YUM!

In Nevada, we don't really have any known culinary staples like brats or seafood. With all the casinos serving free drinks, we're more known for our alcohol consumption. Martini anyone?

Nobody said that we folks from TR were all that normal, but we know a good thing when we have it. The thought of eating a fish with all the bones and tail on usually scares the weak away but those like FSHKPR who try it are in for a treat.

Grow up in Two Rivers, fish, clean fish, cook fish, eat fish, show off fish, lie about fish, drink beer with fish. I bet I could name a dozen guys with old refrigerators in the back yard just to smoke salmon. :p

EE. Isn't that something on Oneida Ave. Went up to GB last year to watch the GB Gamblers play. Whats up with that???

Re: Gimme a Beer and a Brat

yeah onieda street is nuts, my mom and dad moved out here to ashwaubenon in 1970, there was nothing out here onieda street a bunch of fields, the house i own now,(two blocks up the road from where i grew up) was nothing but field too. we always rode snowmobiles in this field. now this whole area is just packed and onieda is known as junk food alley.

pointer fish cooked with bones and tail on did not scare me but to leave all the guts in?, well that worried me a bit. but after tasting it well it was really good. of course you dont eat the guts but being cooked in them must add a little flavor because they are good. even got my wife to try one. she ate one just to be a good sport but now when we go there to have fish in the guts she brings her own brats.

and i like my Braunschweiger on toast with peanut butter and onions

Re: Gimme a Beer and a Brat

FSHKPR,

Well not everyone leaves the guts in and most of the places actually gut them. But cuz they are so small not all of it comes clean, whats left is called seasoning. A good guy b4 the first round of beer can clean one in about 10 seconds.

You know what the tradition is though. First one of the year is served raw, and really, really fresh on the dock. ;)
