The rear bolts that thread into the transom plate will align the motor from side to side.
Purchase an alignment bar to ensure your height is perfect, otherwise you’ll fight getting the driveshaft in and potentially ruin the coupler. You can get them from iBoats. See below.
Buy one of these tools as you should be checking your alignment every year or so when you pull the drive For maintenance checks.
Raise and lower the mounts equally on each side until the bar slides in fully, easily. A little grease on the alignment bar will help you determine how to adjust by reading the spline marks.
Once the bar fits perfect, mark the holes. You may need to lift the motor back out to ensure the holes are straight. Torque the rear mounts to 35 - 40 ft lbs. The hardware is assembled as follows.
